Jean hadn’t had much of a chance to check out most of the shows mostly because she was still figuring out how to get around this place. She had never travelled much but there was obviously going to be some differences when they went to the next town, and she knew as soon as she memorized the layout that it would be different again. Following her gut, she made her way to the back of the carnival, she could hear cheers and screams unlike the kind she heard in her tent when the lion jumped through the hoop. This applause was boisterous and loud, like they’d just seen someone perform real life magic. And so it was.
She only caught the tail end as the man shot the apple off of each of the limbs of an audience volunteer and her breath caught in her throat when he made the shot. Guns had never been something she liked, not when so many wild cats were hunted, but she couldn’t help but he marveled by the display.
As the show ended she made her way to the backstage tent, finding the man in question without his blindfold. “That was mighty impressive.” She said to him, a man who thought he was alone.
