Who: Edward and Kerr What: Birthday Gift When: 17th October - Night Where: Kerr’s Tent Rating: NSFW Status: Complete
It was the evening of Kerr's birthday, although they had spent some time together the evening before Edward had left well before midnight, letting his pet enjoy an early night. Most of the time it was well into the late hours by the time he left, his pet sleeping contently in her bed but there were also nights where he left her tent before the sun rose, back to the security of the blackened out wagon.
The sun had set as Edward made his way to Kerr's tent, a wrapped box in his hands. No one questioned him, in fact the few people that he saw ignored him which was what he preferred, unless they were offering him a feed they weren't much use. Even though he knew that the animals would have warned her of his presence he still said "Hello Kerr, are you in?" it was his custom after all.
--
“Yes.” Her voice called out.
As Edward started through the opening of the tent, his shins were met with the firm headbutt of a young goat. Kerr hurried over and snatched the kid up. “Sorry. He started a phase this morning. Been trying to show dominance with everything.” She picked him up and placed him in a small section she’d penned off inside the tent. “Yea, you really showed him. He’s quaking. Just like the fence post earlier.” The goat nudged her head and then went and curled up in the small pile of blankets. She’d had to keep him with her more often as the other goats hadn’t yet welcomed him into their fold. Also, he sort of bonded with her and didn’t want to give the other goats a chance.
--
If it wasn’t for the sake that he had assisted in the birth of the young kid Edward probably wouldn’t have been as nonchalant about it, yes the young goat would make a great snack but he knew that he couldn’t do something like that to it otherwise it would probably ruin his good standings with Kerr.
He’d deny it, but in a way Edward didn’t mind the little thing, so when it headbutted his shins Edward actually laughed. “It’s alright, he didn’t do any damage.” He said, closing the tent behind him and walking over to where Kerr was standing, holding out the wrapped box. “This is for you.” It wasn’t really much, just a few more books, some pens and a nice looking notebook.
--
Her brow furrowed at the wrapping, Edward had gotten her things in the past that were useful and she needed, but never wrapped. She took the box tenderly and sat on one of the stools before she opened it. It may not have been much, but the quality was definitely better than what she would have normally expected. “Oh my.” She pulled out the notebook and looked it over. “This is too nice.” She placed it back in the box and looked up at him, her hands resting on the gift. “Thank you. Really, I don’know what I did t’deserve somethin’ so nice.”
--
Edward wasn’t one for buying cheap, he knew that something more expensive would generally last longer than something that cost a lot less, already he was finding issues with one of the shirts that he had purchased in 2020, the quality was definitely not the same as a lot of his other shirts. “I heard that it’s your birthday.” He said with a smile, a hand reaching over to pet her knee. “You deserve something nice on your birthday.” Although he and Eva never celebrated them, instead choosing to celebrate the day that Eva had been turned, her ‘true birth’ as they liked to call it.
--
“Oh, is it?” She asked softly, rising from the stool. Kerr moved over to the small shelf and placed the box on top of it, head down.
--
He could see the sudden change in her mood and how she got up to put the box on a shelf without her usual enthusiastic response, something that he was learning was very unlike Kerr. Getting to his feet Edward walked over, stopping just a step away as a hand reached up for her shoulder. “I think so. You deserve so much more than you give yourself credit for, even the nice things.”
--
Kerr reached up and wiped her face with a swallow. “Thank you.” She managed to get out, taking a deep breath, clearly trying to steady herself. “I’m sorry.” Her hand moved to cover her eyes as another deep breath came. After a brief moment, her hand came down and she turned to face him. Her eyes were red and damp, but there was a happiness in them. Without saying another word, she stepped into Edward, and embraced him, face burying into his shoulder.
--
His arms went around Kerr as he embraced her with his usual firmness, knowing that it made her feel safe for those moments at least. “You do not have to apologise, dear Kerr.” A hand went up to the back of her head as her face buried into his shoulder. “I like buying them for you, you’ve come such a long way with your reading. I’m so proud of you.” Which he was, it didn’t seem like it was that long ago that she could barely read a label on a shirt and now she was reading books that were written for young adults, quite a feat for someone who never really had an education as a youth like he had.
--
“I shouldn’t be crying.” She said, muffled at first before she pulled back from his chest. “I don’t know why I’m crying when I’m… happy.” A bit overwhelmed was more like it. “How did you know it was my birthday?”
--
As she pulled back he smiled, the hand that had cradled her head now brushing the hair from Kerr’s forehead. “I have my ways.” He said. The truth was he had asked Kristoph for some information about Kerr a few months beforehand. It seemed like Kristoph was happy that Edward was not only keeping to the small circle of vampires, and that he was actually helping Kerr with things like reading and writing, but how the wise carnival owner knew was still something Edward didn’t know. “What would you like to do tonight?”
--
“I had no plans. I wasn’t expectin’ you after last night.” She blushed ever so slightly. “I was prolly goin’ t’turn in early actually.” She answered honestly. Even more honestly, she’d not realized it was already her birthday.
--
It was true that he had visited her the night before, but after their dinner out and discovering Kerr’s insecurities and that she didn’t want him to leave her, he had started visiting almost every night, even if it was only for an hour or two - a short lesson occasionally, or just to watch over her as she went to sleep. These were the things one did for their pets and he had all day to catch up with Eva and enjoy her company, although some nights he did leave early to find a tasty snack to fill himself up on. “Do you want me to leave?” Although he knew that the answer would be no.
--
“No. no.” She shook her head, fingers gripping his jacket. “I didn’t mean that. I suppose I figured you’d been ‘round a lot that you’d-” Kerr had been expecting Edward to stop showing up regularly every night. To finally find something more interesting. She was starting to realize that might not happen as even when he didn’t come by or when he wasn’t going to be by as early he’d text and let her know- well when the phones were working. But since they’d returned to their own time, she had sort of expected him to go back to the life he had before… clearly she was wrong. “No one’s ever-” She looked to the gift. “I don’t normally remember my birthday.”
--
What Kerr didn’t know was that she was interesting, to Edward at least and the devotion that she had towards him, he often talked about it with Eva although he knew that his pet was solely loyal to him and just having that control was like a drug, but Edward wasn’t about to push Kerr into doing something too bad or dangerous, not yet anyway. “I enjoy your company. I made a promise to you that I’m not going to go anywhere.” A gentle, comforting rub on her back as she looked at the present on top of the shelf. “Well… I’m glad that I could remind you.”
--
It was the first gift she’d ever gotten. Okay, that wasn’t entirely true. When she showed up to dinner on her birthday (which she hadn’t that night because she’d been busy) Ms. Delia would have a special small cake for her. The woman seemed to do it for everyone though, but it did make her feel seen for that one day. But other than that, Kerr’s birthday had been just another day for as long as she remembered. She’d heard others talk about theirs like it was some important thing… but she never thought of hers that way. At least she’d stopped crying.
Kerr moved back over to the stool and sat down, she was wearing a clean set of loose clothes, her binder was removed for the day, having expected a quiet evening reading or something. “It’s really nice to be back.” She said after a moment, it wasn’t the first time she’d said it since they’d returned. “I think the animals can tell there’s a difference. They all seem to be calmer than they’ve been.” Not that they’d been acting out, but Kerr could tell a difference.
--
Edward stepped back and sat down on the other chair so he was facing Kerr. “It is nice to be back where we belong. As interesting as it was to get that glimpse into the future it is lovely to have the peace and quiet again, people don’t seem to be in as much of a rush to get somewhere and aren’t as suspicious about everything.” Which did make hunting a bit easier, people didn’t realise that death might be just around the corner or what form it might take. “Though I don’t think someone…” a glance over at the sleeping kid in his pen, “has any idea that things have changed, at least not in his world.”
--
Kerr chuckled slightly. “He’s still young, din’ know the world before.” She rubbed at her arm slightly. “Have you had a chance t’get out? Did you need to eat?” Her teeth gnawed at her lip slightly. It had been a bit since he’d fed from her, and she hadn’t asked. She hadn’t wanted to be rude, but part of her had been almost itching for the feeling his bite gave her. Kerr winced slightly. “I’m sorry, that’s rude isn’t it? I never know how to ask an’ I don’ want to be rude. But I know you need to sometimes an’ with everything that’s happened I didn’t know if you’d had a chance t-”
--
He wanted to smirk when Kerr asked him if he had gotten a chance to feed recently, although he had fed the night before he wasn't one to refuse the offer, especially when Kerr seemed so eager for it. "No, it's not rude at all." He was going to get up and walk over to her but decided to test to see how loyal she was, how much she wanted that bite. A hand raised, beckoning her to come over to him "I am a bit hungry, but I won't take much." If she didn't move then he'd go over to her.
--
Kerr bit her lip slightly with a small blush as she got up and moved over to him. Her hand slid into his as she sat on his lap. She was starting to become more aware of her feelings thanks to Edward. Acknowledge them instead of pushing them away as unimportant. It wasn’t always easy during her normal day, but when he was around it was. “I trust you.” She said with a soft smile, her eyes looked upon him with a gaze of adoration and excitement.
--
Hearing those words gave him a bit of a thrill as she sat down on his lap, she was so obedient having not even hesitated in coming over to him. He held her one hand in his, giving it a little squeeze as she smiled and looked at him. His other moved up to push the neck of her shirt aside to bare the skin of her shoulder. "Good…" Edward gave her a little smile before leaning in and biting down on the muscle.
--
She tilted her head to open her neck for him as her eyes closed. Kerr felt that sharp pain followed quickly by a rush of pleasure. Warmth filled her as he fed. Her fingers gripped his jacket as her other hand rested on her stomach. A small gasp escaped her as she let out a breath, not having realized she’d been holding it. “Mmm.” She hummed, as her hand slowly moved down, over her trousers and between her legs. She felt shaky and nervous, but his bite felt so good. It made her wet and it made her feel attractive and desired. Did everyone feel like this when he bit them? Or was she strange?
--
They probably didn't get quite the same reaction as Kerr felt but it definitely was more pleasurable than a Daywalker's bite, and Edward knew how much she had grown to crave it. He drunk slowly, wanting Kerr to enjoy every moment and he knew that she was when her hand slipped down to between her legs. He didn't even need to incite any lust, although he did, just a bit before he pulled back, tongue licking at the marks. "Thank you… would you like more?" He whispered, not knowing if she wanted something more than that tonight.
--
As he pulled back, her hand did as well. She was still in a cloud, but it cleared slightly once the bite had ended and she realized what she’d been doing. “Y-you’re welcome…” She breathed, shaking slightly from the rush of endorphins he caused. Kerr hesitated slightly, wondering if she should move back to her stool, but really wanted to stay with him. “Only if you need more.” She replied, adding quietly. “I’d never say no.”
--
He knew exactly what she was doing and he didn't mind it, this was how Kerr reacted to his bite and sometimes encouraged it. The question was did she want something more than his bite but he wouldn't turn down the offer, if only to prolong the feelings for her. "Just a bit more." He smiled, a hand moving down to rest on her leg as he bit over the same marks he had just made.
--
Kerr swallowed, as her hand almost immediately returned to its place. This time her fingers started to press and rub over the fabric. Why was she doing it? She really felt like she couldn’t stop it. Her pulse quickened as her breathing deepened. “Oh..” She bit her lip as even the dull feeling through the layers of clothing felt good when accompanied by his bite.
Once he pulled away again she looked at him, her eyes glistening as her pupils were dilated. Her tongue licked over her lips as she finally moved to get off his lap. Her legs were a little wobbly, but she managed to stand. “...” She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Kerr’s fingers fumbled with the buttons of her shirt. Her skin tingled, she felt warm, hot. She felt drunk, but hadn’t had any alcohol that night. Eventually she got the top few buttons off and managed to shrug out of one sleeve, but continued to struggle with the last few buttons as her fingers felt a little numb- as if they’d fallen asleep. Was he doing this to her? And if he was, did she even care?
--
Edward's hands fell away as Kerr moved to stand, he watched as she managed to undo a few buttons but then fumbled with the rest. Moving forward in his seat he reached out and helped her, undoing the last few stubborn ones before moving back to let her continue what she had already started. She had never been this forward and he wanted to see what else she'd do.
--
“It’s hot.” She said, trying to explain why she was taking off her shirt. As the shirt fell away she pulled off her undershirt as well, letting out a sigh as her bare skin and breasts hit the air. “But you’re not.” It was as if she’d just remembered vampires didn’t carry body heat like humans did. Kerr reached out for his hands, wanting to place them on her skin to cool her down.
--
When she reached out for him Edward let her take his hands although he did pull her closer to him as he stood up. He placed both palms on the skin just above her bare breasts, letting her enjoy the coolness of them before he moved them down, cupping each breast in his hands. Of course he knew that this would no doubt make her feel hotter but he didn't really care, he was enjoying this side of Kerr. "Where else are you hot?"
--
Normally she’d be embarrassed to say, but he’d asked her a question and she wanted to answer it. “Here.” She said, showing him as her hand ran down the front of her trousers. Her cheeks reddened under his gaze and she found her eyes averting for a moment as even a second of silence felt like it dragged on and a wave of shame washed over her.
--
Edward's hands moved down, undoing the buttons of Kerr's trousers so she could wiggle them off before one reached up to her cheek. "There's no need to be embarrassed." He said, the other hand moving down her front and under the band of her undergarments. "You are quite warm… what do you think would cool you down?" Came another question as his hand moved further down between her legs, gently rubbing where he knew she wanted him to.
--
“That- you- touch.” She whimpered, not sure how much longer she could remain standing. “It feels good, cool, really good.” Her words dragged out as her hands moved to his jacket for support. How did she so frequently end up naked in his presence? Why did being around him feel so good? These were questions she should be asking, she should be worried about. But in that moment she was only worried about one thing. “Will y- I want t’feel even better.” She said, though it was more a question than a statement. “You said… I deserve somethin’ nice on m’birthday. Right?”
--
His touch was only light, a tease more than anything to excite her body until she told him what it was she wanted. When she gripped his jacket for support his hand stilled but when she said she wanted to feel even better and said his own words back at him he smiled and removed his hand. "You do deserve something nice… lie down and I'll get myself ready." Another quick card of her hair and he was already shrugging the jacket off, ready to turn the lights down inside the tent.
--
When he went to turn the lights down she reached out a hand. “No… y’dun have to.” She had preferred the dark, especially in the beginning. Being so self conscious about her body, but that night she wanted to experience everything. Kerr stepped out of her trousers and underwear before she moved to lay on the bed. The firm mattress felt night supporting her back as she felt secure. Her hand ran over her breast as she watched and waited for Edward. Her body shivered in anticipation.
--
"Okay." He smiled at her when she told him to leave the lights on, she was getting more confident each time it seemed. He didn't rush to get undressed, letting Kerr watch him undress if that was what she wanted to look at. When his underwear joined the pile of clothing Edward stepped closer to the bed, knowing she'd probably be embarrassed to look at him, especially in this aroused state. "Something nice… and slow?" He asked, Kerr was in control of the pace and it was her birthday after all.
--
Kerr nodded, her eyes averting from his manhood. It felt good when it was in her, but she’d yet to actually really regard one and felt shame when she looked in that direction. She shyly opened her legs, exposing herself to him. “If that’s okay.” That floating feeling was already starting to fade and she wanted to hold onto it as long as she could.
--
"Of course, whatever you want." He climbed onto the end of the bed, giving each knee a kiss as he crawled over her body and into position between her open legs. Once he had built up her confidence more maybe he'd suggest trying different positions, but for now Kerr seemed to enjoy this way most of their previous times. Lowering his hips he lined his length up and slowly started pushing it into Kerr.
--
He went slow, it felt good, she didn’t know he was making her feel extra pleasure. That floating sensation came back and Kerr’s body responded, hips thrusting back against him, back arching to show off her chest to him. Whimpers, gasps and moans fluttered from her lips as a futile way of conveying the high she felt from him. She rode the waves of pleasure, to that peak and back down to be taken right back again multiple times as Edward had promised to go slow and that drug the night out. Until finally, he leaned in and sunk his teeth into her neck one last time. Fingers gripped the sheets as she felt as though she were going to explode.
Every inch of her felt sensitive to touch. Her orgasm dripped down her leg and onto her sheets as she laid there weak and unable to move, still floating on that cloud of pleasure. A smile crossed her face as her eyes tried to focus on the vampire who had caused her to become a puddle on her bed. ‘Thank you’ her lips mouthed as her eyelids felt heavy. She wasn’t tired, just drained of energy. Completely sated.
--
Although he didn’t take more than a mouthful of blood that last time, it still warmed him slightly but probably not enough for anyone else to notice, Kerr was sated and from the sounds made had obviously enjoyed every long minute of it, not that time had any meaning. His fingers brushed through her sweaty hair as she mouthed a thank you to him and he smiled. “Happy Birthday.” Withdrawing he helped her legs back down onto the bed, lying beside Kerr. “Would you like me to stay a bit longer?”
--
She rolled onto her side, and sort of curled against him. It was a move most lovers made to each other, but in this case it carried the air of someone subservient or lesser seeking comfort in someone who held authority over them. Someone who could protect them. “I don’ wanna keep you.” She said lazily. “Maybe just a short while?”
--
While it wasn’t something he’d usually do (except with Eva) Edward let Kerr curl against his side, she deserved a bit of closeness and a sense of normality, if only for a few hours. Putting an arm around her, his hand started petting her hair, it was comforting and something he knew would eventually send Kerr to sleep “You’re never keeping me from something, I promise.”
