The last time they had all jumped through time, Kieran hadn’t been notified by Jack, only found him badly hurt and weak when he returned. This had caused a rift between the two of them, one that hurt Kieran deeply. Jack didn’t trust him to let him make the right decision and Kieran didn’t trust Jack not to deceive him again. The whole thing had become a mess and while the two eventually did come to an agreement, he still felt like there was more that he could do to make it all better. Some small gesture that would show that Kieran was serious about their relationship.
The only person he knew he could go to for answers was Professor Blackstone. He had been working with Jack to help him with his magic and he’d been involved in the time shift with him. So, after he’d been relieved from the medical tent for the evening, Kieran made his way to his wagon. Finding the man engrossed in a book, Kieran did his best to signal that he was there quietly, not wanting to interrupt the other man.
“Aye, Professor, it’s Doctor MacDonald.” He cleared his throat and shook his head. “Kieran.” He corrected, since he wasn’t involved in medicine at the moment.
“I was hoping to have a word with ye? I’ve got questions in need of answering.” The thick Scottish brogue never went away and he was proud of his heritage, even if he didn’t remember where he came from originally.
