Who: Narrative; Open to all for reaction/contribution where applicable When: Monday afternoon/evening What: Rescue mission
It was afternoon when they left for town. The men all piled into trucks, the fire of revenge in their hearts. Parked in a back alley, all gathered around Kristoph as he pointed to a rough sketch on the truck hood. Layout of the building. Some of the carnies had been keeping an eye on the place, and from what they could tell, only their targets occupied the building- other tenets having been driven out or killed. The latter was most likely. The plan was simple, get in, find Edi, get out. Take down as many as possible along the way, but most important… everyone comes back alive.
Their targets were identified- as best as possible. A gorilla shifter, a possible psychic who may also be a sorcerer (definitely someone who could anticipate actions), someone who could control the cold (an elemental or sorcerer, Kristoph was unsure), a demon (harbinger, which had to be explained as most didn’t know what that was), and their leader. Kristoph was unsure of what he was, or the power he held, only assuming him to be akin to a Magi. Everyone was cautioned and briefed on everything they could be up against, at least as best as Kristoph could do. And assignments were given.
Jericho would help them get through any locked doors. Louis, Paul and a handful of roustabouts were armed and would act as defense. Jericho was to keep back, equipped with shackles in case the two were’s more feral sites were let loose. Kristoph, would find Edi and Jack would try to give them an opening. Ben was asked to stay with the cars by Kristoph who pulled him aside after the briefing to tell him he’d feel if he was needed; though he hoped he wouldn’t be, this time.
Once night fell, they were ready- Kristoph just hoped that Kieran and Beth would be ready for them when they got back, but hoped they wouldn’t be needed.

It all started well, Jack surprised everyone after he doused his ring with the potion Blackstone had given him and rose from his chair (a bit unsteady at first, but quickly recovered). He stayed closed to Kristoph as Louis approached the first door, it was locked. He nodded to Jericho who reached out a hand and the metal clicked and the door opened. The large man kept back as the others swarmed into the small hallway. The two were’s were on high alert, focusing on every sound and scent that came their way. All was going smoothly as they arrived at the door that had been identified as their target’s residence; the static that seemed to fill the air around the door was a good sign. Once Jericho’s gift gave them access to the apartment, everything seemed to happen at once.
Not all their targets were in the room, some had come from other apartments as if having anticipated the attack. Kristoph grabbed Jack’s hand and as the fighting started, they focused on one thing, getting Edi.
His wings hung like loose string down his back as he help Kristoph and himself in a bubble of time. As they walked into the apartment, everyone else seemed to move in slow motion. To everyone else, the two men seemed to flicker across the room, as if there one minute and not there the next. Kristoph directed Jack in the direction of his friend, hearing her voice calling out to him. They entered a room that looked more like a laboratory. On the desk was a familiar looking jar and inside were small bolts of electricity, lightning that zipped almost frantically within the glass. As they reached out to take it, Jack felt a sharp pain graze his shoulder which became suddenly very cold. His focus broke and time snapped back. Kristoph yelled at the man to take the jar and go. A second later, Jack and the jar were gone and Kristoph was standing there before the man, sword drawn and lit with flames.

Their goals were met, everyone made it out. Four enemies had been smited and on the drive home, they felt that their home would be safe once again. Granted, not everyone came out unscathed, but they were alive and that’s what mattered. It was nearly midnight by the time they got home, the injured were seen to first.
