Who: Sesshomaru and OPEN
What: The ever lovely Sesshomaru returns!
Where: Around Everett (for maximum interaction :D)
Status: In Progress/Open
Rating: Medium range, will update if necessary.

It had been many years since Sesshomaru had returned to Everett. His attentions had been drawn back to Japan a few years after he had first come to Everett. Life in the American town had been tense but humanity prevailed. Now though, whispers of vampires running loose had reached the mighty demon lord and he decided to see for himself. Making sure his charges in Japan were well looked after, he had flown on his dragon to America again and landed on its shores. He didn't bother changing his outfit he often wore when in Japan still of his white and red kimono, the spiked pauldron, Sashinuki Hakama pants, yellow sash tied around his waist that held his two swords, the Tenseiga and Bakusaiga, and as always his fluffy white mokomoko.

He walked through the wilderness and soon reached the main part of Everett and he arched a brow. The smells were different and stank of death and blood. He turned as a human approached him and demanded his blood. A dangerous cold smile formed on Sesshomaru's face. "There are none worthy to sip the blood of Sesshomaru," he returned, his voice cold. The demon moved swiftly and slammed his hand through the vampire's chest and pulled it out, it's heart in his hand. Letting it fall boredly to the ground, he turned and continued walking.

Rebekah didn't like getting her hands dirty and that was where the help came on. "Well, I can't do everything myself. Like turning the power on? I needed to turn a few people to help with that one." She smirked a little thinking of the pressure she had put on her newly turned vampires to get the power back on. Some of them had folded under the pressure and Rebekah had them staked. The lucky few who had survived were rewarded.

"Change is good, don't you think? We don't have to live like rats in those projects anymore for one thing. I hated it there." She really had, hated every moment. The place was filthy no matter how many times she had filled it with beautiful things, those beautiful things were only tarnished in the ruins of the projects.

"So do I not have your approval then?" she asked him curiously. She would like Sesshy's approval but it wasn't a dealbreaker for her. Rebekah lived quite comfortably in the new Vampire Town. She wasn't about to give it up.

Sesshomaru shrugged a bit. "Power, electricity...shackles to enslave," he returned. "I have no use for such base things," he added. When she spoke of change he glanced at her. "Little better than how things had been." He glanced around.

"I cannot make proper decision with having seen so little of this new Everett."

It was hard to not roll her eyes. As much as Rebekah adored Sesshy his attitude reminded her of her brother's on occasion. Nothing seemed to please him and Rebekah had long ago stopped trying. Still, just like with her brothers it did nothing to deter her love for him.

"Well then, allow me to show you around personally. What do you say?" she asked him with a crooked smile. She could show him her new estate at City Hall where she lived with her brother Nik and her lover Alec. Downtown Everett had cleaned up quite nicely too and there was always the human farms though she doubted Sesshy would have any interest in them as he did not survive on blood as she and her brother did.

Sesshomaru was easily bored by things and he didn't care if people liked it or not. But that boredom was mostly due to how perfect a demon he saw himself as. He had little to no equal in the world and his powers had surpassed that of his father's according to the old flea demon. Still, Sesshomaru did try to stay out among the world to keep his skills and mind sharp and to see if anyone could give him proper challenge.

At Rebekah's offer to show him around, he smiled slightly though it held no warmth. "Such an offer from a perfect vampire such as yourself, how could I refuse?" he returned. Rebekah and her kin intrigued Sesshomaru and had ever since he had first arrived in Everett and met them. He really had come to view them as a sort of equivelant to himself in their society.

"I await your lead Rebekah," he said.

She glowed under his praise as she so often did. As difficult as it could be to please Sesshy, he was always free with the praise and Rebekah and all of her insecurities enjoyed that. It was one of the reasons she had eventually turned Alec too. He had always been free handed with the praise and showering her with affections. She had waited many lifetimes for him.

"Why don't we start at City Hall?" she asked as the two of them walked towards town. "We've remodeled it and it's now my home. Nik stays there as well but we have plenty of extra rooms if you need a place to stay." It was certainly better than the flat she had shared with Nik back in the projects. Those dirty smelly little buildings, how she had loathed them. She much preferred her giant opulent building filled with beautiful things. She had turned an interior designer or two just to work for her.

While he did praise Rebekah, it was only really because he saw her worthy of such things. And it had become clear to him that she enjoyed and craved it. Something he had filed away should he ever have need for plying her to his needs. But so far he had no use for her.

At the mention of City Hall, the demon nodded. "City Hall then." Hearing that it had been turned into an estate, he arched a brow. "Sounds intriguing," he said. "I've no doubt it has become suitable to a being of your station."

"Yes, it is quite the improvement," Rebekah said. Even the zombies had seemed to move out of Everett. Rebekah and her followers killed them when they came across them but truly the zombies seemed to understand that the city had been overtaken by vampires and they had no interest in them. Instead they seemed to hover on the outskirts of town near the farms where Rebekah had security patrolling around the clock.

It still hadn't stopped that pesky Salvatore and his little doppleganger from stealing humans away from her at any chance they had. She knew they would try again too which was why she had set a trap for them by taking the McCalls. She knew it was only a matter of time before Stefan and his do gooding girlfriend showed up.

"How long do you plan to stay?" she asked Sesshy as they walked through town. Despite his time in Everett, Rebekah knew that his true home was in Japan.

The silver haired being nodded. "Even the stench of the beasts no longer assaults my nose," he said, glancing at Rebekah. "Your doing I take it?" There was a bit of an appreciative look in Sesshomaru's eyes. Having as finely honed senses as he did, coming across dead rotting flesh on a routine basis like he often did left him wishing for better times.

At her question, he glanced at the sky, thinking. "For a while I think. My lands in Japan are secure and safe and I wish to check up on those that I had taken under my protection here." Though his voice was neutral, it was clear that if Rebekah or her ilk had harmed any he had deemed his there would be violence.

She nodded at him even though Rebekah couldn't take all of the credit. While she had her vampires exterminate the zombies when they found them, the dead simply weren't interested in the dead which left Vampire Town almost zombie free save for the well patrolled farms.

"And who is under your protection here if I may ask?" Rebekah asked, tipping her pale head to look at Sesshy. She knew that Sesshy had a soft spot for humans from time to time but if he had any under his protection in Everett Rebekah was not aware of it. "I just want to make sure that I don't step on your toes." She smiled at him as they walked down Main Street.

Sesshomaru padded next to her before he glanced over. One thing he liked about Rebekah is that she wanted to please those she felt worthy of it. "A child to us," he said, making reference to their ages, "but a teen to the humans. She goes by the name Melissa and stayed in the projects when the beasts roamed unchecked here. Her and her friends are mine."

His voice took a possessive edge to ensure that Rebekah knew that if harm had come to them by her hands or those she commanded he would take vengeance. "They were not absent mystical skill either," he added. No doubt Rebekah employed witches for her use regularly when she was able.

"Sorry, I don't know a Melissa," Rebekah said as she flipped through her memory. "Wait. Friend of Adam Conant, wasn't she? Pretty, dark, witch?" she asked him. She did seem to recall a witch named Melissa although Rebekah had very little dealings with her. Adam however had proven to be very useful to her.

Melissa wouldn't be a teenager anymore than Adam was. They were adults now, middle aged and absent. Rebekah had not seen Adam Conant in a very long time which was a shame. She missed him sometimes.

"I haven't seen her or Adam around in quite a long time. I think they may have moved on," she said to him as they walked up the steps to City Hall. The vampire guard was already standing there, keeping watch for intruders and they all gave Rebekah a look of respect. She loved that look. Feeling light as air she lead Sesshy into the front entrance where a lavish chandelier hung above stylish furniture.

"This is where we live now."

"That would be her," he affirmed. Hearing that she wasn't in Everett, Sesshomaru nodded some. "I have little doubt many moved on after your...improvements to this city," he said, a slight smirk on his face. As they approached City Hall he noticed the guard and smirked some. "Guards? Have attempts been made on your life then?" he asked. He had noticed the look of respect they'd give Rebekah. A wise move. Rebekah was their better after all. Though he viewed himself as Rebekah's better but never said such as he felt it obvious. No matter.

He let his gaze sweep the entrance and began walking further in, his footsteps silent as he moved. "Much improved than the last dwelling you had," he complimented.

"You can never be too careful," she said. There would always be attempts on her and Niklaus. No matter how many times she had to prove to those imbeciles that she and her brother were unkillable they kept coming back for more abuse. Oh well, Rebekah was always happy to dole out the abuse to the ones who deserved it. The guards were more for show than anything else.

"Thank you. I thought you might approve," she said as she let her hand brush lightly across the top of the baby grand piano she had imported in from Portland. It was a beautiful instrument and sometimes if you caught him in the right mood, Nik could be coerced into playing it.

"Will you be staying with us?" she asked, turning her attention back to him.

He merely gave a slight shrug. He personally had no guards. Jakken for the longest time had been more a lackey, a servant, than anything. Ah-Un his pet and Rin...well, he had no need of guards. He considered them a sign of insecurity and weakness. But then again, Rebekah and her ilk were weak compared to him so perhaps he should stay silent on his thoughts of guards.

The demon nodded slightly at her words of thanks before letting his eyes move back to her at her question. "While I normally stay where I wish it would not do well for your underlings if I were to sleep elsewhere. I have little patience for those who think they are worthy enough to attack me."

A very small smile formed on his face. "And I would not mind the company if I were allowed to stay."

"It's just a building, not a prison." She smiled a bit at that last part still savoring the memory of that day. The day that the prison fell. She had little use for it now other than as an actual prison. She and Nik and Alec kept certain undesirables locked up there. Although most were killed Rebekah did derive some pleasure from torturing those that had wronged her.

She walked up the stairs, leading the way for Sesshy to follow her. She passed the bedroom she and Alec shared and the one that Nik kept to himself in. The door was already closed and Rebekah was certain it was locked. Her older brother was turning into quite the recluse in his older age.

She finally stopped in front of the first guest room. "Does this suit you?" she asked as she turned to face the Japanese demon.

"I would not wish to deplete your ranks given your underlings might think me some weak fool they can eat." He noticed her smile but said nothing on it. Instead he followed her up the stairs. His nose took catelogue of where the scents were and easily picked out all the rooms before they arrived at a guest room.

Sesshomaru stepped into the room and looked around before turning his gold eyes back to Rebekah. "This will indeed suffice," he said, very slightly tilting his head in a bow of thanks. He moved back towards her. "Shall we see the rest of Everett then or have you matters to attend?" It was clear to him that she ruled and ruling always brought some form of headache.

She tilted her head to the side and watched him curiously. Granted, he had a point. She had already lost one vampire in her ranks to Sesshy. Not that Rebekah really cared about her canon fodder so long as they didn't go down in ranks too much. Although she had been doing her best to boost the human population again, she didn't want to turn too many vampires for it meant less humans and less food.

"Nothing so urgent it can't wait until I've had time to give you a proper tour," she said politely. She was indeed glad that Sesshomaru had approved of her changes so far. She knew Nik wouldn't care about such matters but Sesshy's opinions mattered to Rebekah.

She lead the way back down the staircase and out throuhg the front steps of city hall with him at her side. She could see some of her underlings looking at Sesshy with awe. He was a sight to behold with his long silver hair, crescent moon on his forehead and the... fluffy thing. Rebekah still wasn't sure if that was a tail or what.

He gave her another one of his rare slight smiles when she said the matters could wait and he followed after her. He really did have to admit these accomodations were far improved than the lowly projects. Sesshomaru had almost wanted to just go the forest and sleep outside the last time he was here but he had named Melissa and her friends under his protection and thus he stayed close to their dwell at night so they could sleep.

The demon lord didn't even give a glance at the vampires who stared at him. He carried himself as a noble and on occasion let his aura radiate off of him to let those sensitive to it that he was there. Currently though he had his aura tamped down.

"It is nice to see a form of civilization return to this world here," he said.
