Natasha had bent to pick up her crossbow as her eyes followed James, when she suddenly sensed him behind her before she even heard the voice. She spun to face him, having pulled the wood-tipped bolt from the weapon, arm raised, but rather than stake him like she should be doing, her hand stayed where it was. For a long moment she just stared at him, jade eyes focused on blue steel, and her hand finally lowered as she gave a quiet sob, then stepped in close to wrap her arms tightly around him, shaking faintly.
