She was resetting a trap that a rabbit had triggered on the other side of a large tree, not far from James, when strange sounds reached her ears. That much movement didn't make sense from her son, which meant something had happened. Shifting her crossbow so it was in front of her, the redhead immediately moved around the tree, finger on the trigger, and stopped when she saw the back of a man facing her several feet away. All Natasha could see aside from his hair was her son's face, his eyes closed, and immediately the worst jumped into her mind.
"NO!" She shouted without meaning too even as she raised the crossbow and took aim, finger twitching, but not pressing the trigger. She couldn't risk the vampire's speed being greater than that of the bolt; he could turn and place her son in the arrow's path. "Let. Him. Go."
