"Ah, the placebo effect. Got it. Good to know." Owen laughed. He had never actually tried the hot shower for cure a sunburn remedy, but he rarely ever burned anyway. His mom used to swear by it, though, and Owen had the thought that if he ever made it home, he'd tell her an actual nurse debunked the whole thing.
"You're probably right about this being a mental placebo," he said. "But I think it's probably necessary. I'm trying to adjust my brain so that I don't think about what will happen when we return to Zenith. I guess I might as well enjoy this place while I'm here."
