Erran reacted at about the same time as Aspen, confused and hoping—really, honestly hoping—that there wasn't actually a literal octopus in the room. It just would have made life easier to understand right at the moment. He'd seen references to it on the network and hoped it was just some joke he didn't get. But no, the octopus was really a thing.
"Hey, let's just slow down for a second and take a step back," he said, moving between Marco and Pam. He didn't think it was a smart idea to try to restrain Marco right now, but he put one hand out to steady the bucket in case it tipped. He was hoping it wouldn't, because he certainly didn't want to touch a goddamn octopus within ten minutes of waking up (or ever). "We just got here, everyone's still feeling weird, we can all just take it easy for a few minutes, right?"
