Chase dismounted, settling his empty gym bag on the seat in his place with the straps wrapped around it so he wouldn't have to carry it as he led the bike through the gate. "Yeah, but...that was before I really knew what people thought. Don't think I would have done this differently though." He shrugged as he spoke, though he chewed lightly on his lower lip as if to offset the casualness the earlier motion had relayed.
"The meetings started to freak me out," he admitted, rolling the bike onto the grass so they could cut in between the tombstones. He passed the crypt with the scary doll in it without looking at it, focusing toward the back of the cemetery, as if having a target would give him support. "Not...having the meetings or anything, but...it seems like every time we have one things kind of unravel a bit more. A lot of people are trying to be in charge, and...that can get bad. It's okay right now, I guess, but I didn't want to wait until things got bad before I did anything."
He shook his head, his free hand moving up to scratch lightly at the opposite shoulder. "Anyway, uh....back in the beginning, before we met, I had that whole plan about how I was going to make a base at the library. Get supplies and stuff, set up traps, but now too many people know about it. And then I thought about the tower, because having high ground would be great, but that's why other people would go that way too. If...stuff gets bad, I mean." He gestured ahead, toward the crypt at the back corner of the cemetery. It looked just like how he'd left it, though that didn't mean anything. "People don't like graveyards. They'd probably stay away from this place on principle. I've been bringing supplies and stuff here. I'm trying to get enough for four of us, but I haven't gotten everything yet. It's hard just using the bike and my bags."
