Who: Maurya and open! When: 8 AMish Where: Maurya's room, second floor
Maurya lay in bed for the longest time, swimming through a chemical fog. She was so terribly comfortable whilst simultaneously being so terribly sore. She didn't particularly want to move. She didn't want to wake up. She wanted to go back into that long, comfortable sleep.
She also wanted a drink. That need kept niggling at the back of her mind, until eventually she accepted that she would not, could not sleep anymore. She opened her eyes, and woke into an unfamiliar world. A lovely world, from what she could see of it without her glasses, but utterly unfamiliar. It was unlike any room she'd ever been in before. Was she in a hotel?
No. No, she was not. Her memories made their slow return. The last thing she could remember, she was walking back to her car at the cemetery.
Maurya's nerves began to rise. She shifted in bed, finding the IV and the identification bracelet at the same time. This brought her some degree of temporary comfort. A hospital. Obviously there had been some sort of accident. That was scary, sure, but she was obviously okay now. Her neck hurt, and she was disoriented, but that was probably to be expected. Then she actually read the bracelet, and in no way was she comforted by this information. Or the way her IV hurt. She called out a couple of times, and when there was no answer, looked around for a call button. In the end she took the IV out herself, pressing the hospital gown against the wound to stop the bleeding.
Within a couple of minutes she had managed to get out of bed and find the box of her belongings, which thankfully included her glasses. She dressed and headed for the door, only to find it locked. That served to escalate her heart rate further, and she began knocking immediately. "Hello?" she called. "Is anyone out there?"
