Juno was, at that moment, unsure whether to engage or let them have it out by themselves. She didn't need to come to the rescue of either one of two grown ass men, one of whom had about ten chips on his shoulder, the other who seemed to know everything or at least feel pretty sure he did. Benevolently. She didn't have to decide, as the explanation Jim decided to go with was so staggering Juno almost dropped her glass. She was well aware of Marco's look in her direction, but once again Juno found herself looking somewhere else, though she couldn't tell you where if her life depended on it. Just... away.
It's not like that. Damn right it wasn't. And still, the idea that it looked like it was put some serious heat on Juno's cheeks. People kept thinking shit along those lines, first Billy with 'get a room' then Pam when she had tried to defend Marco's right not to see or know of the existence of an octopus anywhere he might walk into, and now...fucking this. Juno didn't like it, for more reasons than she cared to explore. Mostly, because it made her look and feel stupid, because it looked like something existed where there was absolutely nothing, and Juno couldn't help but wonder if it was her who gave off that impression to everyone else.
All the same it was getting a reaction out of her, her heartbeat was quickening its pace and she no longer had any will to be around any of these people. Removing the straw from the glass and tossing it onto the felt, Juno downed the remainder of her drink and put the glass down next to the discarded straw. "People can be friends, padre. People can care about each other a lot." she muttered, one could say almost defensively. "A girl and a boy don't always end up sitting in a tree."
