"Dari's very similar to Farsi. It's almost like the difference between American English and British English." He knew that the differences were actually a bit wider than that, but the comparison was close enough whenever the topic came up. "They're written almost exactly the same, which is what I usually end up working with the most. Dari takes Westernized words from English, while Farsi tends to borrow from French. So, in retrospect, high school might have actually helped out a bit more if I'd paid attention." He scoffed playfully at that before he continued on.
"Technical manuals, medical guides, pretty much anything they need. It's almost always strictly non-military, and usually from one language to another, not, say, English to Urdu. I get that sometimes too, but there's a bigger need for the other." The more he talked about it the more he missed the work. "So, what about you? Tell me a bit about what you do."
