Re: 9pm Oliver and OPEN
"Yeah, I think Daphne's actually pretty nice. She seems like she doesn't take shit lying down, so naturally she was sharper with people on her first day. And that's not a bad quality." Avram hadn't had cause to talk to her since they exchanged apologies on survey day, but he was inclined to think well of her now. It didn't hurt that she'd put out such a nice spread. "But I really like having everyone get together like this, all the zeks in the Gulag. Even the dressing up is good for morale, probably. Everybody looks great—Kate seems to do okay finding stuff for taller people."
Everybody really did look great. For once the luxury of the house didn't seem so ominous, just extravagant and fun, and the house's inhabitants seemed to match.
Avram was glad to hear that nothing had gone wrong so far. Of course it didn't, everything's fantastic this evening. But at Oliver's question he shrugged and shook his head slightly. "I don't know if it was me or what, today just felt kinda...something. Moods all over the place. Up, down, up. I'm normally really steady, because I pay good money to Pfizer for that," he said wryly. "I've wondered if they tinker with any regular meds that they give out to us, but like...maybe that's paranoid, I don't know. I don't think They've ever given people a freebie day here, but I could be wrong. I haven't been here that long."
