"Well it's a square that goes in your pocket,", Marco told her, putting a finger to the thing. He grinned, making it unclear if he was being serious. He could have just been overly literal at that moment.
Now that he was sitting with Juno, he was starting to feel a little better about being there. Maybe he wouldn't have to deal with anyone else that night, and the evening would be okay. Or would they want to mingle? Would they be forced to mingle? He tried not to think about being forced to chat with someone who didn't want him around. He was supposed to be having fun, right?
He looked back to Juno, looking her over again. God, she really did look nice. A lot of the girls did, but Juno was different, and he was still trying to figure out why. "Um," he started, then stopped to take a drink. Maybe he'd get drunk. That could be fun. No way that could complicate things more. "Did you, uh, try the food? Or... Um, did I miss anything?"
