Kate and OPEN - 8pm-ish
Kate had been having a weird day full of ups and downs - she'd woken up strangely happy given the day she'd had prior, and had shifted into excitement when she got around to helping people pick out things to wear to that night's party. Seeing one of the girls in her dress had made her tear up, and she'd nearly thrown a curling iron across the room when her hair decided to stop cooperating with her as she was getting ready. Kate had put everything down, taken a deep breath, taken a ten minute break where she chalked it all up to delayed stress from everything maybe combined with PMS, and then gotten back to work.
She'd done her hair and makeup, then shimmied into her dress and sliding on shoes and jewelry and heading downstairs. Daphne had outdone herself with the setup, and Kate had nabbed herself a sampler plate of just about everything on offer before finding a corner where she could eat and watch as people came in. She was hoping for a good turnout, and so far it seemed like it would be.
Food consumed, she got up to refill her wine glass. She was feeling a little flushed, and as she glanced around at all the housemates arriving, she realized that everyone was right - they were all a very good-looking bunch. Especially dressed up. Kate absentmindedly slid a hand over the deep cranberry velvet of her dress, enjoying the feel of the fabric hugging her frame, and rather idly thought a little bit more over just how good looking her housemates were.
