"You're not the only one in this house with problems, Marco," Cecilia replied, her voice truly rising for the first time ever. "The only difference is, you're the only one that requires a babysitter! You keep saying that you're not used to being accountable for yourself, well that's really too bad! It's no excuse. It's unacceptable. You seem to think sitting down and crying after every huge mistake and saying 'I messed up, I'm sorry' hits the do-over button, but it doesn't. There comes a point where any apology you can offer is hollow and worthless. If you're sorry, you need to start holding yourself accountable for your own self."
Cecilia was calmed by Juno's own outburst, if only because she felt a small sense of guilt. Shame. Had circumstances been better she would have liked to talk to Juno about all this privately, not spring it all on her when things were already so stressful. But she couldn't say she blamed Juno. Cecilia lowered her head and started cleaning and putting her supplies away, making sure to grab Chase's trap out of the tub as well. "I'll be fine," she said, making sure to meet Juno's eyes. "Take care of yourself." She would have to check on her later.
