Only now Juno was beginning to notice how dry her throat was, how wrong she felt, physically. She knew what this was, pure panic and adrenaline. Not having felt this way in a very long time, Juno spared a tear for how sorry she was to be having to feel like this again. There was a dull pain going up her neck and onto her head, all of her head, too. But even before Cecilia gave her an out she knew she couldn't go anywhere.
Juno was about to tell Cecilia she would do whatever the nurse needed, but then she felt Marco's eyes on her. He was speaking to her, asking her to stay. Her heart fell looking at his face, and while half of her wanted to tell him to get fucked, the other half knew she couldn't really do that. Instead, she knelt down next to Cecilia, trying to stay as out of her way as possible, and nodded to her. Reaching with her hand to graze the side of his leg, touching more fabric than anything else, she looked back at Marco. "I told you I'm here."
