Jack's reaction was exactly what she needed at that moment, and Evie felt her shoulders relax just a little. She nodded slowly, eyebrows raised as she finally glanced over at him. "Yeah, she fucking said that." At the question, Evie shrugged her shoulders and shook her head. "I have no fucking clue! Best I can guess is just because we happen to be male and female who are friends and hang out, that means there has to be something more going on there."
Glaring straight ahead, she felt her shoulders tense up again as all the thoughts swirled in her head again. "Maybe because I don't fucking mope and whine and complain constantly about missing my wedding. Or because I don't go on and on about how much I miss Philippe. Because I fucking cope differently than her, apparently that means I can't possibly stay faithful to my fiance. Are you fucking kidding me? Not you, obviously, just..." She sighed heavily and rolled her shoulders to try to disperse some of the anger brewing again. "What really gets me is that nothing that was said about her in that survey was wrong. It was harsh and she shouldn't have had to see it all laid out like that, but fuck."
