Ooh, this had the potential to get very interesting. Daphne would have liked to sit back and watch Kiley and Pam go back and forth until a vein in one of their heads exploded (Daphne's money was on Pam's, just from insult alone), but she was trying to endear herself to the house. "Pam, love, I don't think she means to offend you at all," she said, voice gentle and soothing. She even reached around Juliet to give her a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "I think you both have some excellent points, actually. No, I don't think you're damaged. I wouldn't say I am, either. I have a wonderful life and really, things couldn't have been going better for me out there. I've never lost a loved one or suffered any abuse or injustice, and I had what most people would consider a charmed life. But everyone has a breaking point. Any human being has triggers and buttons to push, no matter what kind of life they lived. I would honestly worry about anyone that didn't. It just seems that they've been watching us long enough to know exactly where to push."
She then turned to Kiley, someone who she hadn't officially met and whose name she wasn't supposed to know. "I still think you may be nearing something. I don't know anyone well enough to say that everyone here is damaged, but you're right - whatever that similarity is, it's the sort of thing we're going to have to dig deeper to find." And Daphne would happily provide a couple of shovels.
