"I'm not damaged," Pam said, clearing her throat. Even to her, it sounded like a strange interruption, but considering Kiley's statement, she felt like it needed to be made.
"I mean... Sorry, that's a good point, it would make a whole lot of sense, and with some of you it makes a whole lot of sense, but we're not all damaged people. I've actually lived a really healthy life, you know? Up to the point that we were taken, everyone was still alive in my family, and no one's ever abused me or anything like that, and I have a marriage that's uh-mazing. I'm not saying you're wrong about the rest of it, it makes sense in a whole lot of ways, it's just then why am I here?"
She pursed her lips, then looked around the table. "Wait, so is there really something "darker" for all of you guys?" she wondered, throwing up air quotes with her fingers. "Like, all of you?"
