Calm Who: Juliet and Jack When: just after 11 a.m. Where: third floor hall, then the kitchen
After sending one last message to Juno around 6 a.m., Juliet had calmly gone back to sleep. If there were any other disembodied voices in her room, she didn't hear them. Sometime later, after the sun had come up, she'd caught the sound of unholy screeching from down the hall, but she'd ignored it. Beauty rest was important. Whatever it was could sort itself out without her, she felt sure.
At around nine-thirty she'd gotten up and done the girly things that she hadn't had time to focus on in ages: taking a luxurious bath in her jacuzzi tub, shaving her legs and armpits, deep-conditioning her hair. She'd made a good haul at both the clothing store and the pharmacy the day before, and she felt much happier and better about her appearance. Juliet was remarkably stress-free given that she'd been awakened in the wee hours of the morning. Honestly she hadn't been scared, because she knew it was another mindfuck by those in charge. Acting scared was fun sometimes, though. She made a mental note to check on Marco later, because he'd seemed a bit more freaked out than should be normal. She'd thought he might ask her to come by, but he hadn't, and she wasn't one who liked to force things.
By the time she got on the computer again, she was lounging in a vintage silk robe she'd brought back from Cassi's. Amazing how much better one felt having decent clothing, she thought. When Jack wanted to meet up in ten minutes, she pondered wearing the robe downstairs but then decided not to. If it had been breakfast time, she might've. As it was, she quickly changed into a plain, short sleeved black shirt and vintage skirt, ran her fingers through her hair and considered herself ready to go. Barefoot, because why not? It made her outfit seem less fancy and more 'lunch meet-up'.
Juliet opened her door at the appointed time and stepped out into the hall. It was empty, and everything was silent at the moment.
