Noah's annoyance was somewhat soothed by friendly conversation and the familiar pattern of sitting down to read. He was old school about it, not one to enjoy reading on a tablet or a phone. No, he wanted the actual book in hand, real pages to turn. It was even nice to have company, quiet though it was now. Even with the heat that still filled the entire house, he was able to lose himself in the story before too long.
