Who: Ariel & Marco When: Afternoon Where: Blue quadrant
For better or worse, Marco could not place who Ariel was. He hadn't ever spoken to her in person, and didn't know her as the woman that he had argued with over the network early on in their stay. In fact, the argument had almost disappeared from his memory at this point, and if questioned about it, he couldn't recall a single thing said.
Still, he'd spaced himself from Ariel on the walk down to town, mostly listening to what was going on in his head until they got down to the first of the houses they were tasked with searching. Marco wasn't sure which he was more nervous about, going into broken-down houses, or doing it with her. She looked mean, or at least easily irritable. Marco wasn't always good at keeping his annoyingness to a minimum, especially when he probably wouldn't be giving himself a second dose until night time, unless by some miracle they found everyone before nightfall. He'd get cranky before they would head home. Sooner, if the voices he was hearing didn't let up. He could swear that they were getting meaner by the day.
He frowned up at the first run-down house. Just standing outside, it smelled earthy, and dirty, and Marco wondered how far they would get before the floor collapsed under their feet. He had a feeling that they'd have to worry about that in every house.
"Should we split up in here?" he wondered, trying not to think of the horror movie cliche. "Probably... Probably safer if we stick together, right? I, um... What was your name again?"
