"Sometimes I think I shouldn't've went," Lennon said of college. "I mean, what good's it done me? I'm kind of a total slacker." This was something he wouldn't have said to a lot of people, but Chase was different. He was quiet and didn't seem like the type that would dog Lennon out over taking a different path. Lennon was okay with who he was, but yeah, on occasion he worried about paying off student loans since he wasn't exactly setting the world on fire with a career.
If he never got out of here, he guessed that would be one less thing to worry about, right? Ugh.
He lost sight of what he'd been trying to do in the game completely when Chase started telling him he knew of places Lennon could get art supplies. "Dude! That'd be awesome. I've been dying to do some drawings of people and stuff around here, some painting. Ya know." Actually he thought Chase would be interesting to draw, 'cause the guy had gorgeous eyes and some serious cheekbones, but he didn't say so. Some people could take those kinds of comments and some couldn't, and he was guessing Chase would be in the latter category. "What were you doin' in the school?" he asked belatedly, picking up his game controller from his lap where it had rested. "Just lookin' for stuff?"
