Pam nodded and pointed a finger at Jack. "Yes, good, you go, bring the box up to my room, and then I'll need you to go to the kitchen and see if we have any frozen shrimp, or crab, or mussels, and then meet me in the downstairs bathroom. We'll work more on the album later." She didn't give him an option, and had already turned away from him and to Val in the time that it would have taken to object.
She lifted the octopus up a bit for Val, assuming she was more curious than she probably was. "I kind of do. I mean, it's most likely going to die, but I'm going to try to save it, because it's such a sweet little thing! Yes you are, yes you are! They left you here to die, didn't they? They did, because they're bad, bad men who like to destroy thing. Yes they are," she finished in a baby voice. The octopus seemed indifferent.
She turned her attention back to Val, speaking in her normal voice once again. "So I need to try to make the bathtub into a saltwater tank, without anything that actually makes a saltwater tank. So, I guess, can you see if there's sea salt in the kitchen? I'm gonna at least get it some water so it doesn't dry up." She started to walk away, but then stopped, and turned back. "Oh, oh wait! You didn't get your thing. Okay, go get your prize, and then meet me in the downstairs bathroom. And if you see any rocks, or sand, bring that with you!" She didn't give Val a chance to argue, either. She just took her octopus and left.
