Rhett hadn't even realized his hands were curled up into tight fists until he saw that the man in front of him seemed as clueless as he was. He nodded slowly at his words, his own hands loosening up as the other continued to talk.
Okay... so I'm not the only one. Are there others...? The idea that multiple people were placed in the same situation as him shouldn't have been a comfort, but he sure as fuck wasn't going to be upset about it either.
Rhett descended the stairs so that he stood more evenly with the stranger.
He shook his head. "I dunno... I just woke up in this room with an IV hooked up to my arm," he scrunched up his face, only just now fully realizing how odd that was, and his statement reminding him of the stinging puncture on his arm.
"I don't remember entering a contest for a vacation at a resort. Even if I did, this is a hell of a way to bring in the winners," he smiled wryly.
