"Oh, Jack's an awesome teacher. He tries to teach me things sometimes, and he's really cool. It's worth the wait," Marco told her absently. He wondered if Jack was at the party, too, and he just couldn't remember because of how drunk he had been. "We made something a few days ago... I think it was eggs..."
He nodded along with her suggestions, knowing that he would probably go back to turning his room upside down long before he had any of those things. Just because it wasn't there in the bathroom didn't mean that there weren't more places to look. "I'm okay," he told her again. "Um, I'll probably work on that after I get Bearbear warmed up, and whatever. I don't know if dogs can get, um, colds. I never asked. So I'm just gonna make sure she's okay first." Bearbear seemed fine, but he didn't want to risk that she would get sick. Bearbear deserved better than he did, he figured.
