"Not havin' the patience for someone is a whole world different than signin' a death warrant," Oliver replied with a weary sigh. "I don't think Cecilia and Owen would ever go that far with someone who wasn't a clear, life-threatenin' danger, and if they ever do, then we'll get the rest of the house involved. There's a difference between someone actin' out because they're scared, and someone...someone like Simms, and they make mistakes, I do too, but Owen and Cecilia aren't stupid. Too far away to knock on wood, but if we're lucky we won't ever be in a position to have to worry about it." Wishful thinking if ever there was any.
"I don't know anythin' going on with anyone, 'cept you, and sometimes even me," he admitted after a few seconds, and he only felt slightly bad about it. "Haven't talked to anyone-I just...I'm no good for everythin' people are gonna expect from me right now. I need to get my own head on straight before I try to tackle anybody else's. And I need to stay with you, probably more for me than you. You're gettin' around mostly fine by yourself, but...you're stuck with me. That's about all I've got in me for now."
