With a little bit of wincing and grunting, Edwin went where Oliver led him, sitting up for a brief moment when Oliver winced so he could turn and make sure that he hadn't sat on him wrong. He settled back against Oliver, kicking both his feet up so they draped up on the edge along with Oliver's. He wondered why they didn't just go ahead and set up whatever nest they were going to end up in later tonight rather than kick back in the bathtub, but somewhere in the back of his mind, it clicked that Oliver had told him about the safety of bathtubs once. If that was the case, he kind of appreciated Oliver pulling him down into his safe space. He liked being close to Oliver, even if it was in a bathtub.
"You're sweet," he told Oliver, leaning so he could plant a quick kiss on the corner of his mouth. "I wouldn't have made you stay if thing got bad," he assured him as he settled again, wiping his eyes as Oliver took care of a few of his buttons. "I guess I felt that way about the whole death thing, too. This fucking five, I know it makes me more expendable, but I still thought that if they saved Reginald, then we were all safe. Now I guess... I think I feel like it's more final, that we're not getting out of here. That this is where we die." He took a deep breath, but it came back out shaky as he tried to blink back tears again.
