Had Kai known what Jack was thinking about, she still wouldn't have judged him for it. She'd woken up in a tower once before, and no reaction would surprise her. She'd tried it all, breaking furniture and beating her hands bloody against the glass until she couldn't even raise her own arms anymore. It had been a routine she returned to in her panic attacks. But Kai didn't want to think about that now. She wasn't alone anymore. She was back in a tower, sure, but it wasn't her tower.
When Jack began to make space, Kai dropped the sheet and knelt down next to her case, beginning the real process of opening it. That involved unfolding hidden compartments and pulling out several smaller bags. She looked up at Jack's question and grinned. "Have you met me?"
