Kai shook her head. "They'll be looking at the ball drop, and that's that way," she said, pointing at a point on the horizon. "But they've got all those helicopter cameras and stuff for bird's eye view. We want a nice bright red message on white, and if the light's on from behind the sheet, it'll be twice as visible." Kai had actually thought a lot about this. She'd done this before, in the princess tower, never expecting it to work but doing it anyway just for the sake of having a project. "Someone's sheet has to make the ultimate sacrifice. But the covers are nice and snuggly, so it's no big deal. I hardly ever sleep in my bed anyway." She had actually managed to sleep in her own room a couple of times since getting Figaro, but she always had to prop the door open. And she was still happier in a public room.
