"Aw no, don't mess up your sheet," Jack half-whined, frowning deeply at the thought of her giving up something she might have to use for who-knew-how-long. "We'll use mine. Or....uh..." He wiped his hand across his face again, inhaling and exhaling as he found himself distracted by the puppies greeting each other. "Or...just doing it on the window." He sniffed, then tilted his head to look behind him and down to the people far, far below. "People will be looking up a lot more tonight when the ball's all lit up. If I leave the light on the words will be back lit, so it should be easier for them to see, right?" That idea brought a slight twinge of hope again, and he looked back to her. "And then nobody has to go sheetless."
