Tobias nodded a little, his fingers clenching and unclenching in his hoodie pocket. He hadn't thought to grab a proper hat or gloves. He'd just wanted to get outside. He looked away from her to the snow covered porch and yard. It was strangely difficult for him to see people with bruises on their faces. Chase and Cecilia both still looked terrible. He could see some people had been hit by Simms, based on the black eyes and the like, but a few definitely got it worse than others. He had some aches and pains that had begun to dull, and the bruises on his ribs where Simms had kicked him before was fading. Soon, all signs that Simms had ever been around would be gone. Physically, at least.
For once, Tobias didn't really mind the silence. He was too tired for it to make him feel uncomfortable or awkward. "The fresh air is nice," Tobias agreed belatedly before glancing over at her. "How're you feeling?" It was a stupid question with an obvious answer, but Tobias felt like he ought to ask, because he did care, even if they didn't know each other well.
