It could be any morning here, but it wasn't. It was a subtle feeling in the air, the sense that everything had changed. Everything felt darker, more complicated. He wanted to keep it light, though, unless Tobias wanted to talk about the bad stuff.
"Oh... yeah, toast would be great," he said, moving to the fridge for butter and jelly. He wouldn't have minded eggs or bacon or some other breakfast food, but anything that had to be cooked didn't seem like that much fun to him. Toast would do just fine.
