"Yeah...." Jack trailed off, frowning as he tried to picture what the poor kid was going through. It was probably hard for anyone, let alone a sweet kid like Tobias.
The question sent a chill down Jack's spine, and he once again reiterated mentally that he did not want to see Simms' body. He didn't need that in the brain bank, as good as it would be to know for sure they really were all free, sort of. Maybe the girls were just a lot braver than he was, and he was alright with that.
"Let's go up," he said anyway, heading up the first couple of stairs then waiting to see if they'd follow. Maybe the kitchen wouldn't be on this floor. Maybe a fifty-fifty shot would be enough.
