It took Kate a long moment to move while she weighed her options. She wanted to fight him, but neither she nor Ice had the training or strength to overpower him, especially not from inside the cell. Pragmatism eventually won, and she cautiously approached. "Please," she asked again as she drew closer, voice still as quiet and calm as she could manage. It wasn't the most level she'd ever managed but considering her morning, it wasn't bad. "At least leave her alone. She's never done anything to you." If she could protect Ice at least, that would be worthwhile.
She walked up to the bars, but hesitated once there, taking deep breaths and trying to hide the sudden chill that went through her. She just couldn't bring herself to put her hands through the bars the way he'd asked. She'd panic again if he restrained her while she was already in the cell.
