Kate's panic attack had faded in the hours leading up to the present; her body simply didn't have the resources to stay on that high alert for so long. Ice's conversation had helped, and she'd eventually gone back to her bunk to try and get a little rest. She hadn't really slept, but her fear had faded to a sort of low-level anxiety that was more manageable, at least, and didn't leave her feeling like she was going to have an asthma attack at the drop of a hat. Her inhaler was, however, secure in the pocket of her jumpsuit just in case.
She was sitting up in bed when Simms arrived, head back against the wall and eyes closed. She opened them when he spoke, fear spiking when she saw the handcuffs. She didn't want to be cuffed around him, and she certainly didn't want to have limited mobility in the already tiny cell. She stood at his arrival, but didn't approach.
"Simms, why are you doing this?" she asked him, doing her best to keep her voice level and calm. "You have to know this isn't going to end well. So many of the people here are new and don't have the full history. Please at least let them go."
