Kiley supposed that if there were a silver lining to any of this, it would be that she was no longer surprised when she woke up in a different place, and in a different bed. There was always the tiniest sliver of panic when Chase wasn't there with her, but she was always determined not to freak out until she knew for sure he was gone. Which he wouldn't be, because... power of positive thinking, or something.
The bed she was on was uncomfortable, and she grimaced as she sat up, careful not to bump her head on the bunk bed above her. She was wearing an orange jumpsuit and she could feel her phone in one of the pockets. She pulled it out, but didn't switch it on just yet. A quick look around made it perfectly clear what was going on. Well, not perfectly clear, but clear enough. They were in jail cells. Fun. Kiley looked over to see Cecilia peering out of another pair of bars across the small aisle. She stood and walked over into view.
"So," Kiley said, casually resting her arms on the cell bars, her phone clutched in one hand, as she studied Cecilia. "What're you in for?" Oh, so many jokes to make right now. They couldn't do much else until they were given information, which Kiley was sure was coming.
