Pam had allowed herself to have her mixed feelings about Christmas in the comfort of her own room the night before. This was her first Christmas in years without Fletcher, and she couldn't help but cry as she wondered how he was doing, and if his Christmas would be okay. Hers would, she was sure, but it would be different.
She hadn't forgotten that feeling when she made it out to the foyer, bright and early, but she was in a much better mood at the first sign of the piles of gifts, and a shriek of laughter coming from somewhere near the tree. It was amazing that the gifts were stacked high enough that they completely obscured whoever had beaten her down there, and Pam had to weave her way through Santa and tree decorated boxes to find Kai, and her large, purple gift. "Oh! Oh, wow," Pam laughed, making herself known. She walked a little closer, peeking over Kai's shoulder to make sure she had seen the gift correctly. "I hope I got something that thoughtful," she said cheekily, laughing behind her hand. "Merry Christmas, Kai! Can you believe all this? It's wild! I don't even know where my pile is yet." She turned to look around.
