Who: Kiley and Chase When: Morning Where: Goose's Groceries and Hardware & back to the mansion
Kiley didn't want to linger too long in town. She was aware that Pam was determined to kill an animal in order to gain one, and Kiley didn't fancy getting shot by a... well, whatever it was the woman was going to use. Didn't They mention a crossbow? Yeah, so no. She definitely wanted to get in and out of the hardware store.
She and Chase had met in the lobby earlier that morning and headed down the hill into town. It had been find riding on the handlebars the last time, but Kiley felt like she needed the ground under her feet right now. It had been a little unnerving, reading what everyone had requested that morning on the network. It felt like... an invasion of privacy, somehow, even though they obviously had none in this place. Kiley wasn't embarrassed that they told the entire house what she had asked for. She had been more worried that Chase would get upset about it, even though Kiley really couldn't figure out why. And she couldn't figure out why she had requested something for him in the first place. She was rarely anything but selfish.
Honestly, Kiley hadn't wanted him know that she had asked Them to give him a new lock and key. She had thought that he would just assume They had done it for him because he'd been a victim of a break in. Obviously Kiley couldn't predict anything in this place, and that was a little frustrating.
They didn't talk much walking to the hardware store, and she was okay with that. She was too busy keeping an eye out for a stag and a crazy chick with a crossbow. Once they reached the hardware store, Kiley found the axe almost immediately. "This wasn't here before, when we came in for the hammer," she told Chase, reaching for the thing to lift it. It was a bit heavy, but she thought she could handle it. "Probably a good thing, though."
