Tara and Noah
"Always more questions than answers," Noah agreed. He was aware that the situation could be much worse. They could be kept someplace terrible, not allowed any amenities or freedom to move around. Most of the time, what happened here wasn't that bad. Also, some of the people who lived here could really cook. He took a couple more bites.
"I've never talked to the guy," he said when she told him she'd heard about Simms. "But I think the ladies here should stay clear of him. Not that you gotta worry with him locked up." He hoped, anyway. He was aware there was no guarantee that Simms would stay locked up. Hell, he might even be released at some point, but those dark thoughts weren't anything he'd want to worry Tara with. She had enough on her mind with being brand new here and taken away from wherever she'd been.
He glanced around for a few moments, idly marking who was here before looking back at her at her next question. "Sometimes they give us specific things to do," he said. "It's usually nothing to worry about. We had to go get a medical exam once, go do an obstacle course. We do have to clean up after ourselves, keep the house straight."
