Oliver inhaled, then exhaled again, buying himself a few seconds to really think about it. He'd done it several times since he'd put up the responses to Kai's survey, wondering if it wouldn't be a terrible idea. He'd nearly deleted it, and had still been considering it right up until heading to Kate's room. "I think I'd like it. Havin' it here for the holiday, even if it gets ruined." Even if it would kill him a bit when that inevitably happened. Part of him wanted to take it back, because the bonsai was alive, and it wasn't entirely his to make decisions with, even if Jason wasn't there to take charge of it. His chest tightened slightly, and the second breath was more technique than anything, despite the fact that he didn't really feel like there was any danger of an attack.
"I'd like to share that with you. A little of him," he continued, though he wasn't entirely sure that was the right thing to say. "A little of home," he added, thinking maybe that was better. "Maybe we can put some'a the lighter Jack ornaments on it." Another inhale and an exhale, and he managed a smile. "I wanna get you pictures of home," he admitted, now that they were doing this. "Mostly for you, even though I know how hard it is to looks. But it's a little selfish. I wanna see the Mercier clan, but...if you're not okay with it I won't do it. I got plenty else to give you."
