Who: Kate and Oliver, eventually Edwin When: Around 5:30 pm Where: Kate's room What: Getting ready omg
Oliver's tuxedo for the evening hadn't needed too much in the way of alteration; Kate had only needed to adjust the trouser hem and take in the waist on the jacket to tailor it a little more closely to his body. She was pleased that Oliver was willing to wear the festive jacket, a dark, almost oxblood red with black lapels. The tux in question was hanging neatly on her closet door, freshly pressed after she'd finished the adjustments. Kate herself was showered and moisturized, her hair up in big velcro rollers as she lounged around in boxers and an oversized man's button-down shirt, painting finger- and toenails a deep maroon. Her own dress had been found and altered a while ago, during one of the trips into town she'd made when bored. Cassi's seemed to rotate its stock every now and again, which kept Kate going back for interesting finds like said dress and tux.
She was anticipating Oliver's arrival like it was already Christmas, thrilled with the opportunity to dress him up and present him to Edwin, like a proud mama sending her baby off to prom. She'd left her door unlocked, so when she heard the knock, she didn't stop painting. The nails had to dry before she could start her makeup, after all. She merely raised her voice to be heard through the door. "Come in!" If it wasn't Oliver, no big deal. She was decent, at least.
