With Chase hanging out with Tobias, Kiley had decided to go back to sleep. It was a bit jarring, the amount of people They had removed all at once, but it wasn't unusual. Nothing in Zenith felt unusual anymore. She dozed on and off for bit before rolling out of bed and taking a quick shower. After pulling on a t-shirt and some jeans, she wandered downstairs to check out the tree Cecilia had mentioned in her morning post.
It was huge. Kiley had never really had a real Christmas tree before. Her dad had never put one up, and her uncle had a small, fake tree that sat on the coffee table in his apartment. His bar always had a festive tree in the corner, but that wasn't really the same thing.
She caught sight of Kai sorting through what looked like Christmas lights. "I think we need a ladder," Kiley said, unaware that Kai had just voiced the same thought. "I'm surprised there's not Christmas carols blaring through the house right now."
