"Told ya!" Oliver called as he headed out into the hallway, managing to peer around the pile of sheets and blankets as he descended the stairs and headed through the kitchen and into the utility room. Throwing everything into the wash, he grabbed the handvac from the charger on the wall and ascended again, ignoring the suddenly, slight twinge in his knee toward the end.
Upon reentering the room, he revved the motor of the handvac twice, then went about sucking up the trails of ants from the mattress, trying to pinpoint where, if anywhere, they were coming in from. "Looks like we gotta be a bit more vigilant about makin' sure the dirty stuff get downstairs. Ants aren't so bad, but there're plenty of other critters they can let loose around here if we're not careful." He watched as the mobile black dots disappeared, and actually felt a little bad about getting rid of them. With so little in the way of animal life it felt like a waste. "Sorry, guys."
