Who: Kai, open! Multiples okay! When: 3:30pm on Where: Second floor patio
It wasn't that Kai was immune to what was going on in the house. She got it. It was weird and unsettling and rather hard to explain in any possible way that wasn't seriously unpleasant, but anytime she sat down and tried to think really hard about what it all could mean... well, it just didn't work out. Her heart would start to race and for a moment fear would rise like bile in her throat. Then some kind of fight or flight instinct took over and chose flight. Distraction. 'Don't think about this, not now,' it told her. 'You can't deal with this right now. Deal with it later. Go do something else.' And she would. A few times she thought the fear might take over, and then she'd literally run out of her room and through the house until she found a new distraction. Half an hour later, it'd be easy to write it all off, one way or another.
Finally she decided she was going to do something nice. What she had in mind would have been nicer if she could have found a portable stereo, but she supposed she'd have to make do without music. She made a pitcher of tropical punch koolaid, spiked it generously with a bottle of vodka, and set it out by the hot tub next to a pyramid of brightly colored cups. Then she went back to her room, posted to the network, grabbed her bubble bath, and headed back out to the patio. The head honchos had been nice enough to give her a large bottle of Philosophy's raspberry sorbet bubble bath, and Kai was rather generous with it when she poured it into the hot tub. Within minutes, bubbles were everywhere. Satisfied with her work, Kai got herself a drink, stripped down to her bra and panties, and climbed into the hot tub.
The bubbles were practically above her head. Yup, she decided, sipping her drink and reclining back. I am awesome.
