"Yeah, well, you're lucky. Being up close and personal with him just the once was enough," Jack scoffed, shaking his head. It was much worse for Juno and Lennon, he knew, but being the first victim didn't give him any room to be wary. That counted for something.
"And maybe not for a while," Jack admitted, almost apologetic about going down below. "I'm really enjoying sky a little too much right now. And this cold-as-balls mountain air." He glanced up and around, sighing. "It really is pretty. We had birds for a while, but then shit happened and now they're gone." He paused before looking down at the water's churning surface. "Bucky's gone too. Someone had to kill him with a fucking crossbow."
