"No, but it'd be kind of funny to watch you do that anyway," Kai admitted, her face lit up with a bright grin. "Come on. I never want to be alone, Jack. You know better." That was true. The best thing about C39 had been that she didn't really ever feel truly alone. That doll, as creepy as it had been at first, had grown on her. As the days went on it was easier to think of it as a living thing, as at least some kind of company. And she'd liked sharing a bed with Daniel, even if she didn't know him at all. That didn't bother her in the slightest. Up until they'd been put in C39, Kai had still been sleeping with her door open, or more often than not, sleeping in the theater or the living room. If she tried it in the lounge she felt like she'd get on peoples nerves, but at least the living room and the theater were out of people's way. Yet they were still public enough to silence the majority of the anxiety Kai got when she was alone at night.
"Hey, speaking of," she said, eyebrows raising hopefully, "Can we throw a party tomorrow night? A big one? In the billiards room, maybe, or I don't know, anywhere not underground? Doesn't have to be fancy. Maybe we could do a nacho bar or something. Just lots of booze and music, yeah?"
