It was about what Owen expected, although it didn't sit well with him. Simms deserved to be gone, absolutely, but Lila didn't. No, she didn't take his offer to help, but he also knew she had stayed in character when they spoke, and he couldn't fault her for trying to get one of Their rewards. Owen had been surprised when either Oliver, nor Erran offered to let her speak for herself. Now Owen wasn't sure if Lila would be able to claim any rewards, as he had no idea where she would be going after this.
Simms was guilty. They all knew that. Simms knew that, and while They had wanted someone on the Council being the 'Judge', Owen wasn't sure that had been the best idea. It made the Council look bigger than it should be, with Cecilia, Erran and Oliver all involved. They should have insisted on unbias parties representing both sides, but Owen supposed it didn't matter now. What was done was done.
Still, Owen thought it would be a good idea to have a 'house' meeting when they could to talk about the council and lay down some ground rules when it came to dealing with these problems. He didn't want the others to think the five of them were the end all be all of the house, because that didn't feel right to Owen either.
Lila was being punished, and it could have been any one of them in her shoes. Then again, would the others have fought so hard to kick Simms out if it had been someone else? Lila was quiet, and not terribly social and no one knew much about her, as far as he knew. But what if it had been Kiley sitting where Lila sat, or Kate, or Daphne? Would the others have dismissed them as easily as Lila? Owen wasn't sure, and that only heightened his discomfort.
He stood to help take Simms and Lila to the cell block. At least they had more than one, as Owen had no intention of placing Lila in the same cell as Simms.
